Billy Vanilli (b.1995) is a self-taught painter with an interest in still life and contemporary realism. His paintings dish up a flair of cinematic drama. Food and its ubiquity take centre stage, although it’s the romantic and sometimes provocative interplay with surrounding players that forms the greater narrative.
His work currently focuses on exploring our behaviour in acts of consumption and the eroticism around food presentation.
